To anyone reading this is recommend you do not buy this refrigerator. I have had it for only 3 years and in that time what I suspect is that the compressor or evaporator has completely given out. I have a second fridge which is a whirlpool that I got for a third of the price that has lasted longer with no issues. i genuinely cannot believe how bad this fridge is. I was just quoted at $700 to fix this fridge! How can this even be. Absolutely ridiculous for something less than 5 years old.

Terrible refrigerator

This is an awful refrigerator. There is no room at all. The dimensions say it's only 4" smaller than the standard depth refrigerator but the shelves are actually about 8" smaller so it doesn't hold anything. The freezer is very small also. The provide one door shelf with it that can't even be installed anywhere. The top shelf on the ice side is so narrow and close to the top that there are very few things that would fit in it. The last refrigerator had the same shelf but it would hold taller bottles so you could put hot sauce jars on it. You can't slide the butter tray door up to stay open. You have to lift it and hold it so you have to have two hands to get anything out. The configuration of the "drop down" tray the have under the butter drawer is stupid. There is nothing across the front so when you open the door the items fall out. You can't use all the shelves provided because if you do you wouldn't be able to put in any tall items at all. I'd always purchased Kenmore previously and the last appliances I had were Kenmore Elite. I thought the GE Profile would have been comparable in quality to the Kenmore Elite but they are very cheaply made. I can't believe this is there midline product. I can't even imagine what a basic GE refrigerator would be like. It couldn't get any more cheaply made.

Very disappointed in this product of GE. I had nothing but trouble with it- the ice maker never worked except for maybe the first month of owning (it's 2 years old, so of course the warranty is expired), and now I was just was informed that the compressor has gone bad as well as the fans inside and that it would be cheaper to buy a new fridge. For a product to be relatively expensive, I should've gotten a longer lifespan out of that product. Do yourself a favor and don't buy.

GE isn™€™t built to last

Maybe I can win the giveaway so I can replace some of my poorly made GE appliances. We bought 6 pieces when we built our house in 2017. Washer, dryer, microwave, fridge, stove, and dishwasher. 5 of the 6 pieces had issues in under 5 years. All of them have broken multiple times in 7 years. And I don™€™t mean just like a belt or maintenance related things. The dryer has a quarter inch wide belt on it. It can™€™t even handle the loads it boasts. So that™€™s been replaced at least 3x. Things get caught around the barrel. Our clothes get stuck around the drum and have ruined numerous items. I know when I hear the horrible thump that something has gotten caught and twisted. Right now I™€™m listening to what I assume is a coin grinding somewhere. The microwave popcorn button stopped working in under a year. The water line on the fridge has frozen up at least 3x. The ice maker drips. One burner on the stove shorted out. Replaced it and it immediately shorted out again. Had to replace the agitator in the washing machine as well as the pump. Right now my dishwasher just decided to stop cleaning my dishes. I™€™ve replaced the heating element and both spray arms. Even when it did work, I™€™ve never seen a washing machine get slimy in my life until this one. So I™€™m hand washing more dishes than the dishwasher is cleaning while I listen to a penny grind around in my dryer drum. I have bought parts for 3 of my 6 appliances just in the last month. Do not buy these products. They will not last.

DO MORE WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!! We bought this refrigerator 3 years ago. Just after 1 years the freezer failed. It took 5 months and MANY MANY service calls. Not only did we lose food and medication, we had to wait to allow for their ™€œtime window™€. A huge waist of time. The freezer has to be completely rebuilt TWICE going without a freezer for over five months. WITHIN 6 months of it being ™€œfixed™€ it isn™€™t functioning again. We have already had two service calls to repair it the third time. When the tech left he said it was working. NOT WORKING. GE has refused to work with us at all. No customer service whatsoever. It™€™s been so frustrating but GE won™€™t make it right. Wow, GE forgot what customer service means

The GE profile microwave that was put in when we built Went out after 13 months. Had to buy a new one...built in, had to get the same one. It went out in less than 12 months. GE and Lowes Should be Embarassed and Reported

Starting with GE, this refrigerator is a lemon, and we've only had it about 2 months now. The refrigerator was delivered without the anti-tip bracket, which most people do not know to look for (I will be submitting a complaint to the CPSC as this is a deadly safety issue). The evaporator/compressor is noisy and causes the entire unit to vibrate, and the vibration resonates through the floor and house. The exterior handle on the freezer drawer is coming loose. The assembly process of the fridge makes it impossible to remove the protective shipping wrap because the wrap is too far embedded under the fridge trim; we have bits and pieces sticking out that cannot easily be removed. The shelves are thin and flimsy with painted-on chrome, and low quality plastic molding with rough edges. The freezer drawer rattles horribly when opening/closing, as if it's going to crack. The auto-fill feature frequently fails and indicates an error. See attached pictures. Considering this refrigerator costs almost $4k and isn't even a smart appliance, GE should be beyond embarrassed. My equivalent Profile fridge from 11 years ago is quieter, better built, and is holding-up far better than this new model. As for Lowes, their delivery team had no idea about a tip bracket and claimed they have never installed such a bracket before. The fact Lowes has appliance crews installing heavy appliances yet they are not trained to properly secure the appliance is a huge RED FLAG, and we will be reporting Lowes for this potentially deadly negligence. As mentioned above, the protective wrap could not be fully removed and the crew simply left the fridge with loose wrap pieces all along the exterior of the fridge. Lastly, the crew didn't even bother to install the interior shelves. When we opened the fridge, all shelves were still in their boxes. GE and Lowes should be truly embarrassed. This product is of extremely poor quality and Lowes appliance installation crews are not properly trained, both Lowes and GE's negligence put the consumer at safety risk. Naturally, most of these issues began appearing after 48 hours, and Lowes does not take back appliances after 48 hours, leaving the consumer at a total loss.

BUYER BEWARE! I purchased a GE Profile refrigerator two years ago, the coil system quit working. I have had to go through 2 service reps, the first said it cannot be repaired, the second one ordered parts to be put in 12/22/23, if all the parts come in. That will be 5 weeks. I missed Thanksgiving and now I will not have a refrigerator in time for guests and dinner. Just last week I spoke with someone that had the same problem with a new GE Profile and today spoke with someone that had the same problem with a GE Cafe refrigerator that was less than a year old. I strongly suggest -Do not buy a GE Refrigerator.

So far the refrigerator/freezer works well except I really miss the "egg holder" and that carton that is placed on a shelf takes up needed space for other things....I do miss my old fridge a lot because of the space issue. The veggie drawer and fruit drawers are not as deep and therefore I have to squeeze things (food) into them. Had to have the original one/first one replaced due to a leak on the side wall on the outside ...no one had ever seen that before. Will I ever buy this brand again? Good question !

We really like the features of this refrigerator but it's extremely loud when it's running. If you nudge it or a little bump it will quite down for a few seconds but it's very irritating.

Problems after 4 Months

The refrigerator was great at first, but the inside with smaller compared to other counter depths. There is no temperature display. Four months in we have cooling problems. A technician has come out 2 times so far. They replaced a board. One week later we are still having cooling problems. The service company is scheduled to come out this week to look again. You don't know there is a cooling problem until the food starts to show signs (like food in freezer thawing or condensation inside refrigerator) of problems because there is no way to read the temperature. I've added a thermometer. I wish I could just get the refrigerator replaced but was told they have to come out numerous time until they will replace the defective product. It should have issues this soon after purchase.

Product is extremely noisy, do not buy it. GE will tell you that the product is running. as designated it is working as designed! What this means to you, you can hear the frig from any room that is connected to your kitchen. Seriously it sounds like it is always in defrost. We have to leave our bedroom TV turned on all night so that we don't hear it. GE has you pay all this money and they know they are selling you a product that is LOUD. Yes, that LOUD. The repair man has been out her more than a dozen times. Run to Whirpool....

This refrigerator is very beautiful. Has all the features that I was looking for. very modern and sleek look. I love the fingerprint resistance stainless steel. Easily wipes clean with no smudges. There is so much space in both the freezer and refrigerator compartments. The counterdepth fits nicely in my space. I really love the door in door and the auto refill.

This is the third unit delivered to my house. First two had defective refrigerator doors which did not operate properly. If it wasn™€™t for the installers modifying the freezer door the third one would have been sent back as well.

Nice fridge. So far seems very nice except today (5th day of ownership) the freezer lights are out. It's dark. Hard to see. No idea where the bulb is. Or if there are more than 1. What to do?

My wife and I ordered a new refrigerator through Home Depot. It took six months for it to be delivered. Was rescheduled multiple times. Finally the day came when they were delivering it and it was missing the top hinge on the outer door! What? How does a refrigerator leave the manufacture with the hinge missing? We had to contact support and duct tape It closed to be able to use it! They are sending me a new hinge but come on. Where is the quality control? You would think if you spent $4000 on refrigerator it would come complete. Also, there is pink protective wrap all over the refrigerator, which is normally a good thing for protecting the stainless but the wrapping goes underneath all the edges of the plastic trim around every door and is impossible to tear off cleanly my wife and I spent hours picking the little pieces of protective wrapping out from underneath all the edges. Ugh. Other than that it™€™s a great fridge lol.
