My new cooktop heats up very quickly. It is easy to clean without knobs. I have no complaints.

We bought the cooktop as part of a kitchen remodel and appliance upgrade. I make my wife breakfast every morning and the results are always consistent. I particularly like the smooth surface with no control knobs, which makes the cooktop much easier to clean.

I bought this cooktop and it elevated everything I made in it. The heat consistency from simmering a large stockpot of bone broth for all day to boiling potatoes that don't boil over anymore to frying meats, this cooktop is the best I have worked with. So happy with it.

We had to replace our old KItchenAid cooktop, which we had for about 24 years, beacause the glass had cracked and a couple of the elements stopped working. This model was a direct replacement so we decided to buy this one. On the whole, the cooktop works well, but as a few other customers have commented, it does run hotter than the older model. We had to go through a learning curve so that we could control the heat properly. The glass top seems to smugde quite easily, and some marks will not come off despite using the recommended cleaning methods. The control area smudges very easily and finger marks are left behind, which at times can be a bit hard to clean. The one big issue we have is that the LEDs indicating the power levels of the elements are very dim and one has to look closely to see what level is set. This is very irksome. With the state of current technology, KitchenAid could have chosen better devices so that the element settings are easy to read. Also, while cleaning, if there is any cleaner on the controls then they start beeping, especially the Control Lock. The cleaner has to be wiped off very quickly off the controls. It is because of these niggly issues that I have given this cooktop 2 stars.

My old cooktop stopped working, and I replaced it with a similar product. It looks great and works well.

I bought this a month ago. The cooktop is still not working. The warranty service people have spent more than $1500 on trying to get the cooktop working. (I reviewed the invoice). Kitchenaid wants them to order more parts instead of just replacing the cooktop.

Cooktop Fail

I gave this 1 star only because you can't give 0. I bought this cooktop in December 2024 to replace an older KitchenAid electric cooktop that was excellent. It was in the house when we bought it in 2008 but we had to replace it because we dropped something on it and the surface cracked and I could not get a replacement surface due to the model being discontinued. I searched the internet worldwide to find a glass surface replacement to no avail. That's how much I liked the old one.
Anyways, the new one is terrible. It cooks very hot and even on a level 2 which is supposed to be "keep warm" and level 3 which is supposed to be "simmer" it will burn whatever you are frying. There doesn™™t seem to be a proper simmer or medium. Also, if I do put it on level 2 or 3 to fry an egg for example, it takes forever to warm up. BUT, it just continues to get hotter and hotter wherein eventually I just turn it off. You can tell that whatever heat sensors are in it are not programed properly because if you have it on any level of heat and realize it is too hot, then drop it down even one level, the element will turn on. Which makes no sense when your trying to cool the surface down. The only way to properly fry something in a timely manner is to set the level at 5 or 6 and then once it is hot enough, play with the levels (1, 2, or 3, or off) to keep the pan at the right temperature. Also, I'll use high (level 10) to boil water, heat something up, or cook something but once it starts to boil and you want to turn it down to just simmer it™™s hard to get it down to that lower level. You can turn it down but the element will remain on. Even if you turn it down to level 1 it will take 20 to 30 seconds for the element to turn off. I complained and KitchenAid sent out technicians 3 times to have a look over a period of three months. The first two said it was working how it was supposed to. The third agreed with me that the heat settings were completely off and reported to KitchenAid that maybe a new control board or something was needed. I thought, great, maybe its just a bad control board. They replaced it, then the whole unit failed and eventually had to replace the same unit. I was still hopeful but the new one operates the exact same. That process took another three months where we were without a cooktop. I see other reviews where people are having the same sort of issues. I was tempted to put the old cooktop back in as it still works but my better half said no due to the unsightly crack.
Very disappointing. We have other KitchenAid appliances that were also in the house when we bought it and they are all great.

I am sorry I bought this cooktop. I had a previous 4 burner Kitchenaid cooktop that I really liked, but the edge cracked so i purchased a new one. This one has electronic heat controls and it sometimes beeps incessantly if I am close to the controls. I wanted 5 burners, but the salesperson did not advise me i would need higher wattage to use it, so I cannot use all 5 at once. I used 2 burners last night at the top of the cooktop and the bottom became too hot to touch. This seems like a serious flaw and dangerous. I would like to exchange it for the old style 4 burner cooktop with dial controls.

I bought this in December 20 24 and was not able to use it much due to health issues but now that I™™m using it it is the worst cooktop I™™ve ever dealt with. It cooks very hot and even on a number two it boils. There doesn™™t seem to be a simmer or medium. Everything burns.. The only time I use high is to start water boiling and then it™™s hard to get it down to a lower level. I am so disappointed. I had a KitchenAid cooktop for over 20 years and finally had it replaced. I was looking forward to this new cooktop but Unfortunately, it is not made like the older ones.

I am very disappointed in our Electric Cooktop. I may be doing something wrong but I feel the burners cook a lot hotter than my original cooktop. Even when the temperature is lowered to 1 or 2 the burner still is very hot and doesn't cool down a lot.
Also the stovetop is very difficult to clean. I usually have to spend at least 10 minutes or more using various cleaners and the scrubber that came with the stovetop.

I'm finding it hard to keep shiny and streak free even though I'm using the recommended products. I also cannot see the outline of the burners. I had it installed in July and since then I have only used the front left burner and the middle burner once. It is extremely frustrating.

I bought this cooktop from a catalog and by talking with the salesman. So far it cooks OK. My problem is that I am unable to tell where the burners are and it does not clean wear. I am so unhappy I am considering trying to return it.
