Think I Got a Bad One or All This Bad??

I'm on my 3rd service call since installation in July. Compressor was replaced once. It made a high whine noise and ran all the time. Now I've found water pooling above the doors on the top. The look and size of this fridge is great but I think I either got a lemon or the quality is not there. I wish I hadn't bought it. :-((((((

The refrigerator is beautiful and well constructed. Unfortunately, there are areas within the fridge that you are not supposed to put things - because it may cause freezing of the refrigerator items. It is nearly impossible to do so things are constantly freezing for us. That is very frustrating but overall I do like the unit

Great With One Small Exception

The side-by-side Maytag refrigerator has met (or exceeded) our expectations except for one feature. In our old Samsung refrigerator, when you wanted water from the refrigerator door, the water dispensed was cold and while not unlimited, provided us cold water, not requiring ice for cold drinkability. For the Maytag, the refrigerated water reservoir is only a small plastic tube. The initial water produced is room temperature and only gets cold after 8-10 oz's have been dispensed. This is disappointing and while we worked around the shortcoming by buying a plastic water dispenser that we keep in the refrigerator, this an important part of a refrigerator and we believe that Maytag should consider a redesign of the water dispenser system to allow for a reasonable amount of cold water to be dispensed as soon as activated from the door.

Two major issues with this fridge: 1. The blue tape applied everywhere removes the finish on the drawers. To be clear, this is not left over tape residue, it has actually removed the finish. Even if you were to get new drawers, I have no idea how you would even get the old ones out of the fridge because no matter how you position the door, the drawers do not fit through the opening. 2. The shelves have a very poor design, where, when you go to slide something off of it, the entire shelf tilts forward a bit. It doesn't look like they can actually fall out, but I think this design could have used some more thought. As other reviews have mentioned, the doors don't sit 100% in line -- the freezer door sits a few mm higher than the fridge door. This doesn't bother me personally, but you might look elsewhere if something like that bugs you. The arctic blue interior is nice, but in the freezer, condensation when you open the door definitely frosts over the blue color a bit. This probably happens in other freezers too, you just don't notice it as much since they're white on the inside instead of blue. One other note, the water dispenser does seem to operate even if you don't have the water filter installed. We found this out by accident because the install team from Best Buy didn't install it. If you have your own water filtration, you should be able to use this fridge without issue.

Dented and incredibly noisy

Unit arrived with a mildly dented freezer door noticed after delivery. Also the doors are not installed straight at all, the freezer door is about 1/4" higher than the refrigerator where they meet. I almost never noticed our prior refrigerator running. This one is ear grating with a low hum that pulses and a higher pitched whine that is pure annoyance. With both damage and continual annoying sounds I want to return this piece of junk.

Very beautiful refrigerator. I wish they didnt put tape on the unprotected shelves. Installed the fridge and pulled the blue tape off the shelves and it took the fake stainless paint with it. Currently having trouble getting a replacement. Fingers crossed menards will help us with replacement pieces...

GREAT Fridge but ....

I really love this fridge, I really really wanted to give it 5 stars but there are issues. The sizing diagrams on the website and the manuals (there are two, one for installation) have serious conflicting information. There are two widths one is the actual fridge width one is the space cut out required. They fail to mention this. On the left top on the Freezer is an ugly banner strongly attached that advertises the 10 year warranty. As it turns out and confirmed with Maytag, it is not meant to be removed and removing it will void any warranty for the door. I tried to attach a picture but sending pictures wasn't working on this website/form. If you use the power freeze option, the water line will freeze and it takes sometime for it to thaw after the feature finishes/complete. Liquids in the fridge side and stored on the left top shelf on the left side wall, will freeze solid. The manuals are poorly written and the dispenser information and instructions for use and very wanting and are just a sheet of paper The dispenser info/use is not in the manual at all. Just the sheet of paper. The light for the water dispenser has a mind of it's own, if you turn it on it makes a great night light and will stay on if you don't open the door and/or dispense ice or water it turns off and in the dark it is imposable to read the button labels as they are not illuminated. My fridge was missing the air filter. Customer Support is easy and very effective from the real person chat box on the website and they sent me a filter. It was couriered and I had it in a few days. The instructions say to remove all Styrofoam packaging. DO NOT remove the Styrofoam inset in the Air Filter housing. It is part of the support for the filter. There is nothing in the manual about that. I was suspicious of it and customer service told me not to remove it and I'm glad I didn't "listen" to the manual. It makes a lot of noise in the first 24 to 48 hours as it adjusts and acclimates. DON"T put food in it until it finishes it's internal setup. That is normal and explained in the manual. It's a beautiful fridge, looks fabulous. The adjustable shelves on the inside door are very flexible to adjust and change and hold a lot of food. The lighting is outstanding and the water filter and air filter are really easy to install. Would I buy it again, yes.

Works great but delivery issues™€¦

We are happy with the look of the refrigerator and it is working fine. We are not happy with the delivery and the unpacking of the refrigerator. The delivery was two weeks later than expected. Every pullout bin had tape on it to keep it closed. When the tape was pulled off, it also pulled off the finish on the pullout drawer handles. Every draw (4) is now missng the finish in several area™€™s of the pullout handle area. There was also a clip at the bottom door area that was missing. The grease is now exposed to dirt and dust. We called for replacements of each drawer and the clip. We were told everything would be replaced but haven™€™t received anything yet.

I had to rave about the excellent customer service provided by the Whirlpool delivery team. After my delivery was cancelled and rescheduled a few times, it was finally on schedule (they also offer online rescheduling options which were super convenient). Without fail, the extra large truck was on route to deliver and I unfortunately had become really sick and wasn™€™t ready to receive the arctic blue interior beauty! Whirlpool was extraordinarily accommodating, professional, and polite. They staged the truck in an area that didn™€™t block off neighborhood traffic and transported the side-by-side on a dolley and positioned it in my garage. They made a notation for whirlpool in the delivery about me being sick so that I could reschedule full installation when I was feeling better. Couldn™€™t have asked for better service!

I bought this refrigerator on 10/22/2025. The refrigerator was delivered and installed on 10/25/2025. I followed all instructions and the refrigerator worked fine until 1/13/2026 when the ice dispenser quit working. When I inspected it I found it was broke. I had the refrigerator for exactly 80 days at this point. I contacted the phone number for warranty and was told the ice dispenser was not covered under my warranty. The representative stated it could cost up to $400 to fix and a charge of $150 to inspect. He suggested I purchase an extended warranty for $4.30 for the first 4 months, then $8.61 monthly thereafter. I purchased the plan and called the claims department to schedule a technician. The technician arrived 1/23/2026 to inspect, diagnose the problem and said he would have to order parts. He was tentatively scheduled to return 2/4/2026, but that did not happen. On 2/8/2026 I was notified the parts had not come in and that I would be contacted when they did. I have not heard from anyone since 2/8/2026.

Tried this new style for the first time. I DO like the ease of accessing items in the freezer but I found that the first week I used it, some of my eggs froze in the fridge side. I've never had eggs freeze before. The temp went from the preset 37 and 0 for freezer to 42 for fridge and -2 for freezer. I unplugged it for about 10 min and then turned it back on to reset it which seemed to work, although it still does fluctuate a few degrees for both sides. Good looking appliance.

I really like the size and the blue interior. I was really excited about the ice dispenser and crushed ice however it broke the first time we used it. The Maytag repair man said the model is so new he can™€™t even get the parts needed to fix. I have no idea when it is going to be fixed. I™€™m so disappointed at the lack of quality we have in most appliances today. They definitely don™€™t make them like they used to. After a week of having my new Maytag refrigerator, the food in my freezer was thawing. I called the added Lowe™€™s Protection warranty and a technician came out to tell me the compressor went out. How does the compressor go out on a brand new appliance? Not to mention this all happened during Thanksgiving and I™€™m hosting. The warranty company established that I get a replacement but could not get it here until 2 days before Christmas. This has been a ðŸ' show!!

We purchased this refrigerator in September 2025. After just 1™€“2 months, the compressor became very noisy, which has been frustrating. A technician inspected it but said the sound is still ™€œwithin range.™€ I chose this model because many reviews mentioned how quiet it is, and it was quiet at first. We later learned that it uses a variable-speed compressor, but it seems to run at its highest speed almost all the time, regardless of how full the fridge is. Unfortunately, the constant noise has made this refrigerator very disappointing for us.

We really like this refrigerator, it is well laid out and easy to use. One thing that surprised me is the inside is dark blue! When I saw that I commented to the delivery person that it might make it harder to see what's inside and he said it might make the contrast more apparent. He was right and it really does make it easier to see.

Poor customer service, broken ice-maker

Ice-maker broke 8 days after 10/22/25 installation. Had difficulty reaching a human being (was disconnected after 25 minutes of holding, then I called again and waited on hold even longer- about an hour in total among both attempts) to schedule a repair appointment. Once it was finally scheduled, the repair company called me to say that they didn™€™t have any availability on the date that Maytag scheduled my appointment for. I had to reschedule my repair appointment for a later date (so not fixed yet.) I am very disappointed that I am dealing with this hassle of arranging a repair so soon after our 10/17/25 purchase. Maytag™€™s poor customer service has made the problem unnecessarily frustrating to resolve.

My new refrigerator is great. Didn't know if I'd like the blue interior but it is better than the usual white. Love the ice bucket on the door even though I have to remove it to turn off ice production. It is easier to do than my previous GE unit.

We've only had it for a few weeks, but so far, so good.I It is so beautiful and WAY better than the 3 yr old competition's refrigerator that failed. I LOVE the lighting! One would think that with a dark blue interior that it would be hard to see, but it's not. I'm not exactly thrilled that the shelves on both sides are not adjustable, but it's my own fault that I didn't notice it at time of purchase - it may or may not have been a deal breaker. There's a large gap between the shelves on the refrigerator door, so I've ordered an additional shelf; unfortunately, it's been on back order for well over a month and isn't expected to be available for another month or more. Very happy with this appliance and will definitely consider this brand when purchasing other appliances.

Impressive Refrigerator

I had to purchase a second refrigerator due to someone else moving into my house. It looks sleek with both the silver exterior and the arctic blue interior. It is truly fingerprint resistant and even looks futuristic on the inside with the blue and the lights starting out on low and rapidly increasing to their fullest brightness. I love the fact that the ice maker is in the door so I have more room in the freezer and that it shuts off automatically when it's full. The selections on the freezer door are easy to understand, although I would like the light to come on automatically by a sensor when you put a glass under either the ice or water dispenser, as the pad does not automatically light up when it's in a "sleep" mode, and you can't find the "Light" icon in the dark. I've only had it a few weeks, but I am impressed with the quality! It runs fairly quiet, as well. And the freezer circulating air with the refrigerator is a great feature too. I also like that it has an air filter, as well as, a water filter. I also bought it because of the 10 year warranty on the compressor. With the experience I've had with it over a few weeks, I would highly recommend this refrigerator to anyone.

We have had our new fridge about two months now and are very happy with it. The only complaint I have is the high moisture content in the freezer. Almost everything freezes to the shelves. It took a lot of moving things around to figure out the different temperature zones in the fridge. A few things froze in the first week so we had to do a lot of moving around to figure that out. I used a remote sensor thermometer to help with this process. I found a great spot to keep our beer and coolers really cold.... Well worth the time to do this process.

Doors uneven, loud, and small

I™€™ve had this fridge a little over a month now and am disappointed in my purchase. The door on the fridge side keeps dropping, this has happened from day 1. My boyfriend got it fixed(or so we thought) but after 2days it drops back down) I haven™€™t noticed it affecting the cooling but frustrating to spend so much on something and the doors won™€™t stay even. It is also very loud at times, I don™€™t have the water or ice maker hooked up, but it sounds like it is trying to circulate the water through and makes a loud noise, scares my dogs every time. I wish Lowe™€™s had a longer return period than just 48 hours because I am so disappointed in this new fridge. It is also very small. The depth is 6 inches smaller than my previous fridge and what a difference it makes. I would not recommend this product.

Good, but 3 small issues

Fridge keeps things at perfect temp. When it runs, it™€™s not very quiet. Water spout sprays a bit. When scratched on the inside, it™€™s very noticeable. Besides those items, it seems to be a good fridge. I™€™ve only had it for 2 weeks, so I™€™m hoping it proves to be a good fridge that runs well.
